Yves Meyer Wins this Year's Abel Prize

This year's Abel Prize goes to Yves Meyer for "his pivotal role in the development of the mathematical theory of wavelets". Meyer is professor emeriuts at École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay in France. He has previousley collaborated with the Uppsala mathematician and former Abel Prize winner Lennart Carleson.

Abel Prize is one of the most prestigeous awards in mathematics. The prize is awarded anually to one ore more outstanding mathematicians. Among previous winners there are famous mathematicians as Andrew Wiles, John Nash och Yakov Sinai.
